This extension adds another feature to the Joomla Google Base extension system. You can now add in related categories, so not only does it export the VirtueMart category name as the "Type" attribute, it also allows you to enter the category which Google asks for to be correct to their taxonomy.

Only JoomlaGoogleBase.com has the ability to add this attribute, no other Google Merchant Centre System can do this.
This is extremely easy to use, just a list that you enter the correct xml type found on that link above, for example
Virtuemart Category =
- Baby Clothes
Googles Category/Taxonomy =
- Text: "Apparel & Accessories > Clothing > Baby & Toddler Clothing > Baby & Toddler Outerwear"
- XML: Apparel & Accessories > Clothing > Baby & Toddler Clothing > Baby & Toddler Outerwear
Either will work.
Download and install this extension and it will add a sub link from the Google Base component.
Minimum requirements
You must be using
- Virtuemart froogle plugin 6.6 and above
- Google Base component 2.4.1 and above
- Joomla 1.5.X
- Virtuemart 1.1.X
- (Joomla 1.7 & VM2.0 coming soon, but it wont work for this version)
for this to work.
NOTE:
Some people have asked me if they "must" buy this component to make the Joomla Google Base extension work, the answer is no, you can rename your categories on your virtuemart site to match Googles Taxonomy

So, no you dont need it, but if you wish to keep your shop as it is with out changing your category structure or want to create your own custom category structure, then yes you will need this extension to make it work correctly and for Google to accept the feed.
